Our Story
The coast deserved something better.
We grew up on the water. And for years, the only option for sun protection out there was a shirt that looked like it belonged on a carnival float — loud prints, clashing colours, nothing that came close to reflecting the quiet beauty of the Australian coast we actually love. So we engineered something different: SaltShield™ — a 92% recycled microfibre that's the softest performance fabric we've ever worn.
So we built our own. A shirt refined enough to wear into a café after an early morning run. Tough enough to handle a full day offshore. Understated enough that you can sink a cold one at the end of a long day as a nipper dad and not look like you've just walked off a boat ramp.

We currently ship to all addresses within Australia, including metro, regional, and rural locations. International shipping is coming soon — sign up to our email list to be notified when it launches.
Order Processing
All orders are processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days of purchase (Monday to Friday, excluding Australian public holidays). Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will begin processing on the next business day.
You will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number as soon as your order leaves us.

We offer free standard shipping on all Australian orders over $150 AUD. The free shipping threshold is calculated on your order subtotal after any discounts have been applied.
Order Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to track your parcel in real time. If you haven't received your tracking email within 3 business days of placing your order, please check your junk or spam folder first, then contact us at saltyscalesau@gmail.com.
Delivery Delays
While we do everything we can to get your order to you as quickly as possible, delivery timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delays can occasionally occur due to high volume periods, Australian public holidays, severe weather events, or carrier delays outside our control. If your order is significantly delayed, please reach out to us and we will investigate with our carrier on your behalf.
Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses
Please double-check your delivery address carefully before completing your order. Salty Scales is not responsible for orders delayed, lost, or returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout. If you notice an error in your address after placing your order, please contact us immediately at saltyscalesau@gmail.com. We will do our best to update it before your order is dispatched, however we cannot guarantee changes can be made once an order has been processed.
Lost or Damaged Parcels
If your parcel arrives damaged, or if your tracking shows your order as delivered but you have not received it, please contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date. Please include your order number, a description of the issue, and photos of any damage. We will work with you and our carrier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Parcel Not Collected
If a delivery is attempted and your parcel is taken to a local Post Office or collection point, it is your responsibility to collect it within the holding period specified by the carrier. Parcels not collected within this period may be returned to us. If your order is returned to us due to non-collection or an incorrect address, we will contact you to arrange redelivery. Additional shipping charges may apply.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it — unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions — Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, including perishable goods, custom products (such as special orders or personalised items), and personal care goods. We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
